Hands down, the most common objection I hear from fellow dads to being able to start a business is…
“I don’t have time.”
And I get that. I really do. You’ve got kids. You’ve got a full time job. You have a home. I have all of those too.
But one day I realized that I can choose my priorities. Because either I lived life intentionally or I simply allowed life to happen around me.
In order to start the business I wanted, to do my best work, I had to make the time for it.
Before I started writing here at Hustle & Heart, I started a bunch of different websites. Some worked and grew into big businesses, and others totally failed. The one key thing that all of my failed projects had in common was that I worked really hard, but not on the right things.
I made excuses. I spent more time tweaking my website loading speed than actually writing. I spent more time making graphics for new products than on the actual product!
BUT, the thing that all of my successful projects had in common was they were all worked on almost exclusively between 3am and 6am every single day.
The largest multiplier I’ve ever found in my life and business was getting up early in the morning and working every single day.
I know three in the morning is extremely early, but with the priority of building a significant side income and getting more freedom for myself and my family, it was easier than I thought.
